Stephen & Sidney | Surprise Proposal
On October 30th 2015, I got the absolute surprise of a lifetime! We had planned to take a day trip to Montreal to site-see, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and catch up with one another. Little did I know, my boyfriend Stephen and Alex had been working together via email to plan out the perfect (and I mean PERFECT) execution of documenting Stephen's proposal. I'm of course tearing up writing this because I honestly could not have asked for a more amazing memory.
Afterward, Stephen showed me all the correspondence he had with Alex. The professionalism, fun spirit, and of course spectacular photography shown in our experience with him was top notch! Alex did everything from scoping out the area beforehand to showing pictures of the area the year prior on the same day to Stephen so he knew what to expect. The amount of time and efforts Alex put in was so genuine and admirable! It was not stagey- he just let us talk and be US! It really shows in the photos and everyone is already telling us you can just see US, our personalities, and relationship shine in them. He was a very fun, positive, natural photographer and I could not have dreamt of more amazing engagement pictures! Having them in such a picturesque location, knowing the expressions on all our faces were from those exact moments, and being able to look back on his beautiful photography the rest of our lives is such a blessing! Thank you so much for creating such amazing art that will remain in our home and hearts forever!

Alex took pictures of my family and I following my undergraduate convocation ceremony. It was a lovely experience! After deciding to hire a photographer to commemorate the special occasion, I found Alex’s website. I really liked the simple outdoor lighting, “fun vibe”, and natural aesthetic. I think the most appealing aspect about the images he captures is that he celebrates the “in-between moments”. My favourite pictures from my graduation day are happy smiles with my grandmothers, tickles and giggles with my boyfriend, and my goofy dad’s lopsided grin. Those “imperfect, un-posed” silly times are, in my opinion, what his photography is all about: celebrating people’s uniqueness in real-life moments. Alex was great to work with. As a Christmas gift, I arranged for my brother to get a professional headshot done with Alex. It worked really well as a gift idea for my brother because a) he will be graduating soon and entering the job market, b) he prefers non-materialistic gifts.
We went together to Alex's studio and were both very happy with the experience and the final photo. The top thing that stood out to us about Alex during the session was that it felt like the headshots were his art and he took pride in producing excellent quality results. As the session went on, Alex provided a lot of insightful, detailed, and personalized guidance that made the final photo the best it could possibly have been. Often times these were small details that had a huge effect but that we never would have noticed or thought of on our own.
I highly recommend working with Alex if you or a loved one is interested in getting high quality professional headshots!

As a professional writer and performer, I've had to have headshots for 30 years and have worked with more than 10 photographers; Alex is by far the best of any of those. He worked hard initially, starting with a Skype meeting, to understand what kind of pictures I liked, didn't like, and the two "brands" I have. At the shoot, he was fabulous-technically knowledgeable, fun, and willing to incorporate some of my ideas. It was a true collaboration. I am crazy in love with my new headshots. If you are looking for a personable, easygoing, highly professional and creative photographer, do yourself a favor and hire Alex. I cannot recommend him highly enough (and I am extremely picky/hard to please).
