Back in November, as part of a cultural exchange, I found myself in Kitcisakik, an Anicinape community near Val d’Or. In this post, I’ll share a photo essay from that trip.
Portraits, Lately
This year, I’ll want this blog to give you a bit more of a behind-the-scenes look at my life as a photographer.
I often get asked about the kinds of people who reach out to me for photos. It really varies, but the one thing in common that my clients have is that they need photos of themselves to put online somewhere. In this post, I’ll go through a few portrait commissions that I’ve had over the last several months. I’ll share who these people are and what they needed the photos for.
T1D
This is what my girlfriend Frédérique needs to stay alive. Fred has type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Exploring with New Gear: Film & MF
When I first got started in photography, I was obsessed with cameras. I knew the entire lineup of Nikon DSLR cameras and lenses as well as their Canon counterparts. After a few years, I suddenly and completely stopped caring. I no longer kept up with the new releases. I found a camera I liked, a 10-year old camera that I found on Kijiji (with fewer megapixels than your phone), and I used it for the first few years of my professional photography career.
My Second Website is Online!
For the past few years, I’ve had this question in my head.
If I had no clients, what would I be photographing?
The answer to that isn’t clear to me yet, but I know that my personal projects point towards the intersection of art and science. I haven’t shared much so far because I’ve always had a hard time fitting both my commissioned client work with my personal projects into a comprehensive yet cohesive website. So I grabbed a huge metaphorical sharpie and drew a straight line right across my photography and brain.
Photos from Portland, Oregon
In this post, I’ll be sharing photos and stories from my trip to Portland, Oregon.
Le Grand Costumier
In this post, I’ll be sharing one of my favourite shoots in a while. Last year, I was hired by Le Grand Costumier to provide visual content, allowing them to showcase their collection and the services they offer on their website.
Insect'Art: A Collaboration with the Insectarium
MY INNER BIOLOGIST IS GIDDY WITH EXCITEMENT! In this post, I’ll share with you a photo collaboration that I’ve done with Montreal’s Insectarium and some artists.
Fuji's Headshots Over a Year
BIG UPDATE! Fuji is now (technically) an adult. I’m still kind of in denial about it, but yes, he’s a bit over one year old now. So this means I’ve picked up his poop over 500 times. Lucky bastard.
Shop Page
After months of thinking and deliberating, I’ve recently launched my shop page for my fine art photography prints!
