Last week, I met up with Amanda and Meags for a photoshoot at Amanda’s amazing place. Industrial greenhouse-like windows, hardwood floors, and aerial silks.
Amanda is a tattoo artist who often draws on people, Meags is an illustrator who often draws people. When they’re not doing that, they just like to hang out.
I had only seen aerialists perform from far away. Seeing silks from up close made me realize how tough it is. Not only do you need the strength to hold up your body weight with those slippery hands, you also need to memorize and perfectly execute these little foot dances around the silks to form the knots. If you forget the order of your loops, or there isn’t enough tension in your silks and your knot doesn’t get formed properly, well… that’s when you regret having hardwood floors.
Thanks to both Meags and Amanda for the fun shoot!
