In this post, I’ll give you a little tour of Luminarium, my first photography studio!
Since February, I’ve been offering Fuji’s friends headshot sessions at my studio located right next to my dog park.
A few years ago, I re-vamped the portraits for the entire staff of McGill University’s MacDonald campus, and I’ve since gotten occasional requests from smaller departments to do the same. Last fall, I met up with various profs and staff members from McGill’s School of Environment to renew their headshots.
BLUE BACKGROUND HEADSHOTS! A rare sight on my website, but I have nothing against colour (even though my wardrobe, apartment, studio space, accessories, etc. may suggest otherwise). Maybe I just have a thing for neutrals ok? In any case, blue background headshots for this crew.
This is Fuji, my 4-month old Shiba Inu puppy and photo assistant.
The village of Alfred is obscure enough that I’ll start by specifying that it is indeed a place and not a person.
When I told people that I’d go to New York and didn’t specify that I meant New York state, I was told “Oh man, you’re gonna get some amazing photos!”. I’m pretty sure they weren’t thinking about Alfred. Quaint little Alfred.
Each month, I’ll be offering a person who is looking for a studio space and give them access my new studio for the equivalent of one week during which I won’t be using it. In exchange, I’d ask for 3-4 days of skill sharing or assisting.
We’re done with 2017 and that marks the end of my 3rd year working as a photographer!
For those who were wondering this morning “Hey, is Alex Tran a nerd?”, well boy do I have the answer for you with some new photography stats. I did this for the first time two years ago, visualizing my wedding photography stats (back when I did weddings).
