Not my typical human subjects, but still very much fun to photograph!
Back in March, I teamed up with the gals at the design studio Cow Goes Moo (we also worked together for the Tejano BBQ Restaurant photoshoot) to create the visual content for Sir Barkley, a dog bed company based in Montreal. The beds are ridiculously comfy and feel so luxurious, even if you’re not a dog. Memory foam, mmm...
After a call on social media for willing dogs and dog owners, our fluffy models were found. We were all slightly nervous for the photoshoot since we had no idea what to expect. What if they all refuse to lie down on the beds? What if a dog fight breaks out? What if I suddenly develop a random dog allergy midway through the shoot?
I completely expected at least a few dogs to pee on something at my studio. In the end, it was astonishingly smooth. Each dog had a 30-minute slot to get one good shot, but we just needed 5 minutes for most of them. After each successful session, we were left dumbfounded. The dogs would just lie there and look where we needed them to look. They all have bright careers ahead of them as supermodels.
The photoshoot left me with dog hair for weeks and did nothing to curb my desire to get a dog, but of course I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
If you’re interested, Sir Barkley’s website is still under construction and the photos aren’t up yet, but you can still order from them in the form here at the bottom.
I also photograph cats by the way. Is there a cat bed company out there in Montreal who wants to team up?
